Hey, I’m Tristan, the photographer behind Portrait Visuals.

You’ll probably notice I don’t show my face much on my website or social media, and that’s intentional. Because I specialize in surprise proposals, staying low profile helps me continue doing what I love most, blending into the background and helping create unforgettable moments without ever ruining the surprise.

My journey with photography started back in 2015 when I picked up my first camera, a Canon T6s. Back then, photography was simply a creative outlet. I spent most of my time photographing friends, capturing portraits, and documenting adventures out in nature. Over time, I eventually lost that passion and stepped away from photography for several years.

In 2025, I made the decision to return, but this time with a completely different mindset. I wanted to take photography seriously and push myself to build something far greater than just a hobby. Since then, a lot has happened. From building my portfolio from the ground up to seeing my work reach millions online, the journey has moved faster than I ever expected. But truthfully, I’ve never focused much on numbers or virality. For me, growth has always been about one thing: constantly improving my craft and becoming better with every single session I take on. I’m heavily drawn toward storytelling and creating imagery that feels intentional, cinematic, and emotionally driven. Whether I’m documenting a wedding or capturing one of life’s biggest surprise proposals, my goal is always the same, to create work that feels authentic and unforgettable.

I still have a long way to go, many goals I want to accomplish, and I approach every session with the mindset that there is always room to improve.

For me, photography has never been about recognition. It’s about creating work that means something.
